Fresh courses and a revamped event program headline the new-look Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport Running Festival in 2026.

This year marks a fresh new chapter as the event evolves from the Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport Marathon into a festival of running for all ages and abilities.
Taking on feedback from residents and participants, the festival has been streamlined into a one-day running program on Sunday, May 3 headlined by the ASICS Half Marathon and supported by the Visit Toowoomba Region 10km, Grand Central 5km and Toowoomba Mile.
The condensed one-day festival will see reduced impact on the city with fewer road closures, whilst the new-look courses will showcase the city’s historic landmarks, artistic streetscapes, and colourful parks and gardens.
Courses for the ASICS Half Marathon and the Visit Toowoomba Region 10km will again follow the same popular routes as 2025, starting on Margaret Street adjacent to Queens Park.
The Grand Central 5km and Toowoomba Mile add a fresh twist in 2026, with both events featuring new courses starting from Lindsay Street.
The Toowoomba Mile will feature Elite, Junior, Open categories or rally your mates, colleagues, or classmates for the Mile Relay.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, running with family, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there’s a distance for everyone:
